St. Pat’s Fund
Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes
July 19, 2008

The Advisory Committee convened at 9:30 a.m. CST by telephone conference. Participants were Eric Dunning, Michael Gross, Lance Haynes, Dan Hinkle, Todd Miller, and Marianne Ward.

1. The Minutes of the January 26, 2008 meeting were approved.

2. As of June 30 the balance in the fund is $15,965.  All bills have been paid.

3. The new Memorandum with the Alumni Association was reviewed and approved.  The start date will be August 8 upon approval of the Alumni Association Executive Committee.  It is understood that the terms of the Committee Members set out in the Memorandum will start on August 8, 2008.

4. With the generous gift of $60,000 by the St. Pat’s Committee Classes of ’08 and ’09, we are on schedule to have the current St. Pat’s Statue bronzed in 2008 and have it “unveiled” during the 2009 Celebration to “kick-off” the next 100 years of St. Pat’s.  Within the next week, the statue will be shipped to the Modern Art Foundry in New York for bronzing.

5.  St. Pat’s Plaza.  The next effort of the Committee is to raise the $150,000 needed to create the St. Pat’s Plaza (the area around the St. Pat’s Puck) in time for the unveiling of the bronzed St. Pat’s statue during the 2009 Celebration.  After discussion, the following action items were approved:  1) The Hangover Edition of the Shamrock will be sent to all Board Alumni; 2) Calls to former St. Pat to enlist their help in calling their classes will be made as follows:  Lance Haynes-50-59; Eric Dunning-60-69; Dan Hinkle-70-79; Michael Gross-80-96, but will ask Eric Smarko and Wayne Schmidt to help with early 80s; and Jeremiah King-97-Present. 3) Callers are to report results to Lance; and 4) Once accomplished, we would decide how best to approach those classes where their St. Pat did not call them.  All understand that this effort must begin immediately to meet the St. Pat 2009 target.

The Committee adjourned at 10:14 a.m., subject to the call of the chair.

Respectfully Submitted,

Lance Haynes, Chair
